Complexity have successfully extended their Major run at the expense of NRG, besting them 2-0 in Swiss round 3.
Affairs commenced on Nuke, where NRG took the lead off the back of a successful bomb explosion. The advantage was short-lived, as a force-buy from Complexity in round 2 allowed for a string of rounds to be accrued. Early exchanges of momentum proved to be the story of the initial half, as neither side was able to successfully run away with a sizeable lead. In conclusion, Damian "daps" Steele's men were able to slightly edge out Complexity with an 8-7 T performance.
Once more the energetic quintet saw early success in the form of a pistol round, this time on the defence. However, once rifles were seen on Complexity's part, the dynamic changed. Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and his squad demonstrated a very confident T side performance, with seven back-to-back rounds producing a 14-10 lead. Crucial frags from Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov and Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte in round 24 created space for their team to mount a comeback, and, following a financial reset for the Ts in the final round, the map entered overtime.
A total of two overtimes took place, the first of which featured an equal split of rounds, with each team snagging a 2-1 CT half. In the second overtime, however stanislaw was able to convert a crucial 1v3 situation on the T side, concluding Nuke on a 22-19 note.
Cache kicked off to a turbulent start, as both sides struggled desperately to take control of the map early on. NRG landed their pistol on the defence, only to be upset in the follower by a force-buy from Complexity. The dust settled five rounds in, as Complexity were finally able to string together three consecutive rounds, placing themselves in a 5-3 lead. Having conceded a fair few, NRG resurged in the remaining seven rounds, with a solid hold from Ethan "Ethan" Arnold closing the half 8-7 in his team's favour.
Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland opened up Complexity's defence with a pistol 4k, creating much needed space for a lead to be developed. The opportunity was not squandered, as a clear message was sent the T's way with five follow-up round victories. Following these developments, NRG resurged, upsetting the CT economy after a round exchange was succeeded by a string of five in their favour, closing the round discrepancy altogether. In what proved to be a nail-biter, NRG were unable to capitalise on a subsequently secured map point, with Complexity pushing the map into overtime.
Contrary to previous struggles, Complexity were able to accrue the majority of rounds on their CT half of overtime, concluding with a 2-1 lead. This was followed up shortly by success on their first T round, placing the squad on series point. A 1v3 conversion from Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan in round 35 put the lid on NRG's Major run, concluding the map and series with a 19-16 victory for Complexity.
